Innovation & Entrepreneurship Path Internship Program

Innovation & Entrepreneurship Path of Excellence is partnering with SPARK Ann Arbor to allow students within the Path the opportunity to take a deeper dive into what it’s like to work at a startup or company. Through this experience, students will perform the tasks that are critical to moving a successful business opportunity forward.

Internships can be arranged weeks or months in advance, however, make sure to take the steps listed below in order to take advantage of these opportunities.

Connect with Margarita for a 1:1 meeting to discuss your schedule and internship options. Planning for your internship can begin as early as 3 months, or more than 6 months, out from your anticipated internship experience.

During your meeting with Margarita you will be able to browse a large list of startups and companies open to accepting interns.

Either create a list of your top choices (up to 7), or select the one that you would be interested in.

Fill out the Impact/Internship Survey Questionnaire listing your achievements, experiences, goals, and availability, and upload your most current Resume/CV.

Once you have done this, Margarita will review your information for completeness.

A letter of support from Dr. Cohen will be attached to your application and submitted to SPARK to facilitate your application to the startup/companies of interest to you.

When a startup/company is interested in your application, you will be contacted by either SPARK, Margarita, or the interested parties for an interview or open discussion.

Remember, it is important to follow up in a timely manner. If you are contacted directly and have questions about how to engage, reach out to Margarita for guidance.

If both you and the interested startup/company agree to an internship, a match is made– congrats!

Before you get started, you are required to fill out the PoE (Branches) Elective Sheet and submit this for final review.

Additionally, you will be required to fill out and submit to Margarita, the Internship Proposal Outline that your internship supervisor will need to sign in agreement of the terms of your internship.
