Fast Forward Medical Innovation offers researchers a number of funding opportunities to help advance biomedical research projects. From the statewide MTRAC for Life Sciences Innovation Hub to U-M internal funds, resources, and personalized funding consultations, FFMI gives researchers valuable guidance and support as they navigate the path to successful commercialization.


The U-M Fast Forward GI Innovation Fund is a three-year, $500,000+ program that targets discovery and development of future technologies to help patients suffering from gastrointestinal disease.

The U-M Therapeutic Innovation Fund is a five-year, $2.5M fund created to accelerate the discovery and translation of therapeutic candidates.

The Monroe-Brown Seed Fund is the first-ever venture seed fund at the University of Michigan specifically intended to help drive the success of U-M biomedical startups.
